Job Overview:

The Emergency Medical Driver is responsible for providing both scheduled and unscheduled medical transportation services, ensuring safe and timely delivery of passengers to their designated locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to various locations, including hospitals and nursing facilities, to deliver medical transportation services.
  • Ensure the safe movement of passengers, including assistance with wheelchairs and stretchers at homes, hospitals, and other medical facilities.
  • Monitor passenger safety throughout the journey, adhering to all local, regional, and state regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a high level of personal integrity and accountability.
  • Hold a valid certification or license from the appropriate state agencies.
  • Be certified in CPR and First Aid by recognized organizations.
  • Achieve certification as an Emergency Medical Technician within one year of employment.
  • Maintain a clean driving record approved by the company's vehicle liability insurer.
  • Complete a CEVO ambulance driver safety course successfully.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Capability to lift and maneuver up to 150 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and navigate stairs without difficulty.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Field Supervisor or Operations Manager for all operational activities.

Additional Duties:

  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are ready for use at the start of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and medical control as required.
  • Provide safe transport and advocacy for passengers until they are handed over to medical professionals.

All responsibilities must be performed in a manner that reflects the highest standards of passenger care and safety.
