Job Overview:

The Medical Transport Driver is responsible for providing both scheduled and unscheduled medical transportation services, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of passengers to their designated locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to various locations including hospitals and nursing homes to facilitate medical transportation.
  • Ensure safe movement of passengers, including assistance with wheelchairs and stretchers at various facilities.
  • Monitor passenger safety throughout the transportation process, adhering to all relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with state laws regarding passenger monitoring and transportation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a high level of personal integrity and accountability.
  • Hold current licensure or certification from relevant state agencies.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid by recognized organizations.
  • Must obtain Emergency Medical Technician certification within one year of employment.
  • Maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license with a clean driving record.
  • Successfully complete a driver safety course.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Effective communication skills with various stakeholders including passengers and medical staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and walking long distances.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 150 pounds.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the Field Supervisor or Operations Manager for all operational activities.

Additional Duties:

  • Ensure readiness of vehicles and equipment at the start of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and other agencies as required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local geography for efficient navigation.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation for all transport activities.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures while maintaining the highest standards of passenger care and safety.
