Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Property Staff to join our team at Girl Scouts of Western New York Inc. As a key member of our property team, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities of our seasonal camp, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our campers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the grounds and facilities of our seasonal camp, including mowing, trimming, and pruning vegetation, as well as performing general maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with the setup and closure of the campsite, including preparing and cleaning facilities, and ensuring that all necessary equipment is in working order.
  • Support the Property Manager and Camp Director in maintaining the camp's facilities and grounds, including performing repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Work closely with the Property Manager and Camp Director to ensure the camp's facilities and grounds are safe and well-maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager and Camp Director.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in landscaping, building/grounds maintenance preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to accurately follow and understand instructions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Basic knowledge of and willingness to learn, understand and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to wear and utilize all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work flexible hours throughout the camp season.
  • Must be able to self-transport to the camp and work independently.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Complete a background check.
  • Commitment to the principles of the Girl Scouts movement.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to sit or stand; walk on uneven surfaces; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to insects and wildlife, weather conditions (i.e. extreme temperature, humidity, rain and snow). Exposure to dust and odors may occur.
Girl Scout Membership

All Employees of Girl Scouts must maintain an active, annual membership in Girl Scouts of Western New York. This membership must be renewed annually, and all newly hired employees are expected to enroll with GSWNY within the first 30 days of their employment.
