Role Overview
The Order Management team within the Operational Experience IS Portfolio is tasked with creating essential business applications that facilitate the meticulous management of customer order data. This ensures superior supply chain execution, yielding positive outcomes for both Expeditors and our clients.

Our systems empower a global network to align supply chain execution with customer order processes and network designs. The core service involves receiving customer orders electronically and managing the associated milestones.

As an Architect, you will spearhead architectural initiatives within the Operational Experience Portfolio, focusing on delivering impactful business results. Your role will involve providing architectural and engineering clarity to support business requirements and the operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with OXP and Enterprise architects to align with the strategic technical direction of the organization.
  • Define key technical initiatives that support Lean Budgets through Enabler Epics.
  • Guide OXP value streams in adhering to budgetary constraints for solution retirement.
  • Lead the OXP strategy for developing and maintaining the architectural framework for shared components.
  • Communicate Strategic Themes and key business drivers to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive architectural initiatives within the OXP Portfolio Kanban system and engage in epic analysis as needed.
  • Influence common modeling, design, and coding practices across teams.
  • Promote Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevSecOps capabilities.
  • Collect and analyze innovative ideas and technologies for business application.
  • Facilitate the reuse of code, components, and established patterns.
  • Ensure synchronization of system and data security, quality infrastructure, user experience, scalability, performance, and other Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs).
  • Coach developers and identify training opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage the breakdown of Enablers into ART or Team Enablers.
  • Understand the architecture of all systems and address any conflicting approaches.
  • Implement strategies for technology adoption across the OXP Portfolio.
  • Support engagement among portfolios with Solutions and ARTs/Teams.

This position requires on-site presence in the greater Seattle area. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, as relocation assistance is not provided.

Qualifications:

  • Alignment with Expeditors' culture and core success factors.
  • Demonstrated experience as a technology leader.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and execution skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture and applications, preferably Azure.
  • Familiarity with designing and operating distributed microservice systems at scale.
  • Knowledge of big data strategies and system design.
  • Experience with DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Ability to inspire, coach, mentor, and motivate team members.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a technical role such as systems/data/business analysis, project management, or software development.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lean, Agile, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Knowledge of global logistics and supply chain operations is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
Expected base salary ranges from $150,000 to $240,000. Expeditors offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation, holidays, flexible days, sick time, 401(k) with employer match, employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental coverage, life insurance, and more.
