Job Title: Senior Technical Program Manager, Security and Compliance

IonQ Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Program Manager to lead our security and compliance efforts for our quantum computing technology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our quantum computers, with a focus on achieving compliance with Federal standards like NIST.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of security and compliance controls for our quantum computers.
  • Create and manage project timelines, establish key milestones, and ensure resource alignment.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts with a high sense of urgency and bias for action.
  • Coordinate and interface with all project dependencies, including technical and non-technical teams.
  • Create concise, data-driven project status reports and presentations for senior management.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in managing projects and delivering technical/product goals within aggressive timelines.
  • Experience managing projects through the Product Development Lifecycle with formal gated reviews.
  • Prior experience leading compliance with NIST 800-53, NIST, and/or FedRAMP.
  • Prior experience leading compliance with SOC2 and/or ISO 27001.
  • The ability to lead technical teams through problems and situations with high levels of ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated experience working in research and development in industry or at a national lab.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in writing and leading responses to government Request For Proposals.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles.
  • Experience in managing R&D projects.
  • B.S. in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical fields.
  • PMP Certification.
  • US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience.
  • PhD in Engineering or Science with preference in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience or training in Quantum Computing.
  • Proficient executive presentation and communication skills.
  • Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience with managing the implementation of DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks or Hardening Standards across complex environments.
  • High-level experience with a range of security tools including EDR, SIEM, CSPM.
  • Experience developing a System Security Plan for a medium to high-complexity organization.
  • Ability to earn the trust and respect of technical stakeholders through consistency, communication, and results.
