Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in North Richland Hills, Texas.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide in-patient, out-patient, and/or neighborhood clinic services, focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function, and prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness, and injury with English and Spanish proficiency within an episodic care model.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care services, including screening, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and home programming for children with feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, receptive/expressive language disorders, hearing loss, and the need for AAC devices.
  • Engage in direct consultation and collaboration with physicians, nurses, other professionals, clinics, and agencies, both within Cook Children's Health Care System and within the community.
  • Document and correspond with services following department and system policies.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in speech/language pathology, communication disorders, or related field.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Understands broad cultural aspects of native Spanish-speaking families and ability to relate to diverse cultural and ethnic populations.
  • Must meet Spanish proficiency levels defined by Cook Children's Health Care System and measured by objective and nationally recognized oral language, reading, and writing tests.
  • CPR-BLS within 30 days of employment.
  • State license or eligible for state licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology, or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year and must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment at Cook Children's.
