The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager for Academic Advising to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive training and professional development program for the UTA academic advising community.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with academic colleges, advising community, and key campus partners to develop, enhance, and maintain an academic advisor onboarding and continuing training curriculum utilizing NACADA's Core Competencies and CAS.
- Implement an advisor certification program, coordinate training for technology platforms and tools, and develop monthly advising professional development opportunities focusing on student success, advising issues, and updated UTA policies and procedures.
- Manage data collection and reporting for training and professional development, including developing and maintaining a comprehensive assessment plan for the academic advising program.
- Supervise front desk staff and oversee the creation and planning of annual events, including the opening meeting for the school year and the Advisor Awards and Recognition Ceremony.
- Master's degree and five (5) years of progressive experience working with college students in an academic advising capacity or equivalent progressive experience.
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience at an institution of higher education.
- Experience implementing, monitoring, and assessing student development programs/projects.
- Master's degree in higher education, leadership, psychology, sociology, or similar field.
- Academic advising experience at a public University.
- Knowledge of high-impact academic advising practices, CAS standards, University academic advising practices, and federal, state, and local policies and procedures governing academic advising functions.
- Skilled in staff training, event planning, program assessment, written and verbal interpersonal communication, organizing information and projects, problem-solving, and adhering to deadlines.
