Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database systems to support our clients' mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database systems to meet the needs of our clients, including database modeling, schema design, and data migration.
  • Develop and maintain database performance, security, and backup and recovery procedures to ensure high availability and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve database-related issues, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, schema diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend new approaches and solutions to improve database performance and security.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle Enterprise Editions.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex database systems, with a focus on performance, security, and data integrity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with database virtualization, cloud computing, and big data analytics.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Experience with database development tools, such as SQL Developer and Toad.
  • Certifications in Oracle Database Administration, such as OCA and OCP.
