Mental Health Professional for VMI Cadets

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with VMI Cadets and provide them with the support and resources they need to succeed.
About the Position
This is a full-time position that requires a Master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology or a closely related field, as well as licensure as a clinical psychologist, Social Worker, or professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to high professional ideals.
Responsibilities
- Provide short-term individual counseling to VMI Cadets
- Conduct intakes and psychological assessments
- Provide substance abuse assessments and consultation services
- Develop and implement outreach programming for the Corps and assist with cadet health and wellness education and activities
- Provide crisis assessment, counseling, and interventions
- Assist with cadet retention activities
- Provide on-call after-hours coverage
- Follow record keeping guidelines and adhere to professional standards and codes of conduct
Requirements
- Licensed or license eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Demonstrated understanding and adherence to ethical codes and applicable state and federal laws regarding the provision of mental health services
- A collaborative spirit of warmth, acceptance, respect, and trust towards colleagues
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening)
Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
