Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at Ochsner Health. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries in athletes and individuals. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with physicians, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and treatment programs for athletes and individuals
  • Conduct on-field immediate care for injuries, recommending physician or therapy follow-up as needed
  • Maintain accurate injury logs and document patient information according to policy and procedure manual
  • Assist in the development of clinic and community-based rehabilitation and training programs in conjunction with physicians in the Sports Medicine Institute
  • Participate in in-services and continuing education programs on athletic training procedures, clinical education, research, and professional paper writing
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training
  • Current Athletic Trainer License in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Athletic Training, Athletic Training Board Certification of BOC
Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The incumbent must be able to tolerate temperatures of 100 degrees or more for extended periods and work in outdoor settings. The role also requires the ability to travel throughout and between facilities, as well as work a flexible schedule.
