ROLE SUMMARY:Under the guidance of the Program Director, this position is responsible for the daily management, supervision, and scheduling of the residential shelter youth care personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee peer activities, manage schedules, and maintain records
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for youth care personnel
  • Exhibit appropriate behaviors and interactions
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Show initiative and leadership capabilities
  • Provide on-the-floor support and coaching for staff
  • Be prepared to work during severe weather conditions
  • Maintain professional boundaries
  • Facilitate group sessions with diverse dynamics
  • Exhibit punctuality and readiness for work

  • Oversee daily operations and direct care staff activities
  • Ensure proper training and utilization of the Youth Development System (YDS)
  • Encourage cleanliness and continuous quality improvement
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of reports and documentation
  • Schedule shifts for direct-care staff
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Administer prescribed medications
  • Assist in evaluating staff performance
  • Supervise the residential facility in the absence of the supervisor
  • Maintain National Youth Care Certification
  • Assign daily tasks to staff members
  • Ensure completion of shift responsibilities and proper medication administration
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Coordinate resident transportation as necessary
  • Oversee safety measures within the facility
  • Supervise Youth Development Specialists and ensure adequate staffing
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
  • Coordinate training for direct care staff
  • Provide first-line supervision for shift leads and youth care personnel
  • Work a flexible schedule as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Access protected health information as trained and authorized
QUALIFICATIONS:

WHAT YOU NEED: A bachelor's degree is preferred, or an associate degree with four years of directly related experience, including two years in a residential setting, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with eight years of directly related experience, with six years in a residential environment. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
