About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by maintaining the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments using various methods, including steam, Sterrad, and gas sterilization.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as ultrasonic cleaners and washer decontaminators.
  • Inspect and assemble instruments into their assigned trays, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Locate and replace missing instruments, and restock supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless workflow and efficient patient care.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
  • Current National CRCST or HSPA certification, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
