Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This role is primarily accountable for the execution of production priorities across various teams, ensuring that corrective and preventative measures regarding quality are implemented, while also monitoring and communicating any potential risks associated with fulfilling the overall production timeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Floor Supervisor and undertakes supervisory responsibilities in their absence.
  • Ensures that Leads and Team Leads adhere to the production schedule and priorities as directed by the Floor Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Enhances production efficiency by overseeing productivity and quality metrics.
  • Collaborates on the formulation, ongoing enhancement, and upkeep of policies and procedures aimed at efficiently producing high-quality switchgear.
  • Mentors and trains Leads and Team Leads to guarantee that the production workforce consistently delivers quality output, routinely inspecting all areas for first-time quality assurance.
  • Takes responsibility for preventative and corrective actions related to quality, addressing root causes with all teams.
  • Communicates material and consumable requirements and shortages to the Floor Supervisor and Material Manager to prevent production disruptions.
  • Provides technical guidance and addresses inquiries from the team.
  • Assists with personnel matters on the floor in collaboration with HR.
  • Participates in hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Plans and organizes projects and personnel to align with company goals.
  • Monitors each project to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Analyzes available data to meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Communicates job expectations, including planning and monitoring, to production leads.
  • Assigns personnel to specific tasks.
  • Reviews each project prior to testing to minimize errors.
  • Ensures compliance with safety protocols.
  • Ensures that production equipment and tools are well-maintained.
  • Engages with various departments daily to gather information necessary for project initiation and completion.
  • Ensures that schematics and materials are accessible for project completion.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • MV Mechanical Assembly Technicians

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical Degree (BS) preferred or a minimum of 2.5 years' experience in a related manufacturing field.
  • At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience in production, engineering, warehouse, and quality functions within a manufacturing or plant environment, particularly in electrical assembly.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands:

  • Activities: Sitting – 25%, Walking/Standing – 75%
  • Lifting: Frequently lift up to 30 lbs; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending: Ability to bend, squat, crawl, and climb.
  • Vision: Long periods of close work on computer screens and ability to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands: Ability to interpret, analyze, research, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work Environment: Climate-controlled office space with exposure to outdoor conditions such as extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, and dust.
