Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Switchgear Programs, the Production Program Manager is a pivotal role that interfaces with customers, overseeing the production elements of the Switchgear program across our low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) product lines. This multifaceted position requires the ability to cultivate effective, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, essential for navigating the complexities of our rapidly expanding program.

Key Responsibilities

As the Production Program Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning manufacturing and finished goods inventory, ensuring alignment of production schedules across multiple feeder factories with customer forecasts and contractual obligations.
  • Developing strategies to accommodate growing customer demands and forecasts, facilitating business and program expansion.
  • Analyzing and reporting on factory production metrics to promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Quality & Reliability teams to drive factory initiatives and enhance performance.
  • Standardizing project management practices in partnership with Production teams.
  • Empowering factory Project Managers to identify risks and opportunities across various projects.
  • Managing risks through identification, contingency planning, and resolution strategies, while executing milestones to enhance program outcomes.
  • Providing strategic direction to factory project managers in alignment with factory and program objectives.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for vendors, generating individual vendor forecast reports, and coordinating with material managers to mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Overseeing material allocation among factories during supply constraints to ensure production continuity and adherence to customer deliverables.
  • Fostering strong relationships with customer stakeholders to drive mutual success.
  • Delivering status updates to stakeholders through regular production meetings and written communications.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with various departments regarding capacity, inventory, design changes, and other factors impacting production schedules.
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar, fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a background in high-volume industrial product manufacturing and post-delivery customer support.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and advanced proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, capable of managing multiple projects and balancing competing priorities.
  • A flexible, hands-on approach, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and a willingness to support wherever needed.
  • Effective management and communication skills to influence and guide resources, both directly and indirectly.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying and resolving complex issues.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with extensive experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Team-oriented, with a proven ability to collaborate with others to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support operational needs.
