Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This role is primarily accountable for the execution of production priorities across various teams, ensuring that corrective and preventative measures regarding quality are implemented, while also monitoring and communicating any potential risks that may affect the overall production timeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the Floor Supervisor and undertakes supervisory responsibilities in their absence.
  • Ensures that team leads and production leads adhere to the production schedule and priorities as directed by the Floor Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Enhances production efficiency by overseeing productivity and quality metrics.
  • Collaborates on the formulation, ongoing enhancement, and upkeep of policies and procedures aimed at the efficient production of high-quality switchgear.
  • Mentors and trains Leads and Team Leads to guarantee that production personnel consistently produce quality work, regularly inspecting all areas for first-time quality assurance.
  • Takes responsibility for preventative and corrective actions related to quality, addressing root causes with all teams involved.
  • Communicates material and consumable requirements to the Floor Supervisor and Material Manager proactively to prevent production disruptions.
  • Provides technical guidance and addresses inquiries from team members.
  • Assists with personnel matters on the production floor in collaboration with HR.
  • Supports hiring, termination, and disciplinary processes as necessary.
  • Plans and organizes projects and personnel to align with company goals.
  • Monitors each project to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Analyzes available data to meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Communicates job expectations, including planning and monitoring, to production leads.
  • Assigns personnel to specific tasks as needed.
  • Reviews each project prior to testing to minimize errors.
  • Ensures compliance with safety protocols.
  • Ensures that production equipment and tools are maintained properly.
  • Engages with various departments daily to gather necessary information for project initiation and completion.
  • Ensures that schematics and materials are readily available for project execution.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical Degree (BS) preferred or a minimum of 2.5 years of experience in a related manufacturing field.
  • At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience in production, engineering, warehouse, and quality functions within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on electrical assembly.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands:

  • Activities: Sitting – 25%, Walking/Standing – 75%
  • Lifting: Frequently lift up to 30 lbs; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending: Ability to bend, squat, crawl, and climb.
  • Vision: Capable of long periods of close work on a computer screen and able to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands: Ability to interpret, analyze, research, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work Environment: Climate-controlled office space with exposure to outdoor conditions such as extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, and dust.
