Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of drivers, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
- Assist in scheduling and ensuring deliveries and pickups are made in a timely manner.
- Monitor vehicle safety, safe usage of ramps and handcarts, seat and weight belt use, and safe lifting and product-handling practices.
- Coordinate tracking of driver information, including license status, traffic tickets, accidents, and other risk and safety-related data.
- Ensure accurate completion of delivery and driver-related paperwork, including invoices, cash receipts, collection register, trip reports, fuel tickets, deposit slips, DOT logs, and driver qualification files.
- Work with the Transportation or Operations Manager to minimize operating expenses and ensure efficient routing of deliveries.
- Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and route optimization tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
