Position Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in the precise and timely generation of invoices and billing statements for various legal professionals. Flexibility to work additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate client invoices utilizing Pre-bill Viewer and manage paper billing through Aderant software.
  • Submit electronic invoices and accruals via multiple e-billing platforms.
  • Address and resolve inquiries related to accounting and billing.
  • Edit and review pre-bills based on requests from attorneys and support staff.
  • Handle a substantial volume of intricate billing tasks with accuracy.
  • Verify the correctness of billing documents and supporting materials as necessary.
  • Engage in special projects and prepare ad hoc reports for management as required.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions as needed.
  • Support other departmental functions and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Familiarity with standard accounts payable principles, practices, and related applications (e.g., Chrome River).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining a positive outlook.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and exceeding expectations.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, initiative, and sound judgment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive billing experience, ideally within a legal environment.
  • Experience with Aderant software is advantageous.
  • Background in collections is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional computer skills with a quick aptitude for learning new software applications.
