Patient Transport Specialist

Position: Patient Transport Specialist
As a Patient Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients who require non-emergency medical assistance. This includes individuals who are ambulatory, in wheelchairs, or on stretchers, ensuring they reach their medical appointments, including discharges from hospitals and inter-facility transfers, using company-owned vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate wheelchair and gurney vans safely and effectively.
- Load, unload, and secure patients during transport to ensure their safety.
- Accurately complete and maintain all necessary documentation.
- Communicate any changes, issues, or incidents to dispatch promptly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and cleaning of the vehicle.
- Minimum age of 23 years.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must provide a CA DMV K-4 print-out.
- At least 5 years of a clean background check.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
Preferred Experience: Any background in the medical field will be given priority consideration.
Work Schedule:Shifts typically run from Monday to Saturday, with Sundays off. The working hours are generally from 4:00 AM to 1:00 PM, subject to change based on daily trip schedules.
Additional Requirements:- Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles.
- Complete paperwork related to billing, trip logs, and invoices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Proficient in using a cell phone, reading maps, and utilizing GPS for route planning.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Ability to manage challenging customer interactions with diplomacy.
- Follow written instructions and established procedures effectively.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capability to lift and maneuver equipment safely, in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
