Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Technician to join our Geotechnical Division in Richmond, VA. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field observations and testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials. You will work closely with our team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field observations and testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials
  • Communicate with contractors and managers regarding project status and requirements
  • Assist with laboratory testing programs under the oversight of a Professional Engineer
  • Complete site visit reports daily
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to read construction plans
  • Ability to become proficient at using firm's field-testing equipment
  • Ability to prepare accurate daily field reports and meet required deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A flexible working style and ability to work independently and with teams
  • Strong analytical and judgment capabilities
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • ACI certification or VDOT soils and aggregate certification

Compensation

Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
