Job Summary

Aurora Health Care seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to join our leadership team. As a key member of our senior management staff, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our medical center and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership: Participate in the development and implementation of our medical center's strategic plan, working closely with senior leadership to identify and prioritize key initiatives.
  • Medical Staff Management: Provide leadership and guidance to our medical staff, ensuring effective functioning and achievement of short- and long-term objectives.
  • Quality and Performance Improvement: Develop and implement programs to improve patient care and outcomes, working closely with our Performance Improvement Teams.
  • Operational Leadership: Provide oversight and direction for our medical center's operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Human Resources and Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring our medical staff has the skills and expertise needed to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure our medical center is in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with our medical staff, leadership, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctorate Degree in Medicine.
  • Experience: Typically requires 10 years of experience in medicine practicing as a physician, including 5 years of management experience in overseeing medical staff, performance improvement, and quality programs.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and diplomacy. Knowledgeable of contemporary practice issues within medicine, and ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate healthcare and medical staff activities.
