About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Chief Nursing Officer to lead our new behavioral health hospital in Madison, WI. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising nursing and the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services.
Responsibilities- Set the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure that all residents' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.
- Provide clinical leadership, strategic, and long-term goals for the nursing staff.
- Anticipate and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocate nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.
- Role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrated sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.
- Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department.
- Organize, coordinate, develop, and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols within the facility to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
- Current RN license.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with free-standing inpatient setting is preferred.
- 6 or more years' nursing experience.
- 3 or more years' progressive managerial experience required.
- 3 or more years behavioral health experience preferred.
