Key Responsibilities

  • Group Education Delivery: Conduct dynamic group sessions covering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), substance abuse education, workforce readiness, and creative expression.
  • Program Assessment: Evaluate the effectiveness of both in-custody and out-of-custody educational programs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive documentation of individual participant progress.
  • Behavior Monitoring: Supervise participant conduct to ensure a safe and secure environment for all involved.
  • Trauma-Informed Practices: Stay informed on trauma-sensitive and evidence-based facilitation techniques.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside other teams to discuss participant progress and provide recommendations.

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with best practices in chemical dependency treatment and cognitive-behavioral programs.
  • Experience in leading effective group sessions.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage challenging group dynamics.
  • Empathy and cultural sensitivity to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Advocacy skills for the successful reintegration of individuals within the correctional system.

Work Environment

This role is primarily conducted within a correctional facility during educational sessions. The work schedule typically aligns with standard business hours, with some flexibility required.
