Job Title: Electrophysiology Specialist

At Health First, we are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Specialist to join our team. As an Electrophysiology Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing electrophysiology procedural support in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians in enhancing hemodynamic and angiographic techniques and anticipate equipment needs.
  • Set up and monitor EP recording computer monitor systems, label printouts, display electrode combinations, measure cycle and interval lengths, and report changes to physicians.
  • Record temporary playback of procedures for initial, immediate review by physicians.
  • Assist physicians with mapping, stimulating, and catheter insertions as required.
  • Adhere to approved standards of aseptic technique in prepping patients and during procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients in the lab.
  • Facilitate implementation of physician's orders accurately, promptly, and courteously.
  • Promote interdepartmental/client relationships with positive interactive skills, maintaining a professional, team-oriented working environment.
  • Recognize potential emergency/life-threatening situations and implement preventative measures as directed by physicians.
  • Assign and supervise accordingly those assigned to him/her by the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Perform all aspects of monitoring, recording, scrubbing, and holding room responsibilities with exceptional levels of professionalism and expertise.
  • Perform all aspects of circulating, with exception of Conscious Sedation/Narcotic drug therapy as ordered by physicians. Maintain a working knowledge of drugs commonly used in the lab.
  • Demonstrate and practice proper protection measures to ensure radiation safety and minimize risk of exposure to possible hazardous materials.
  • Capable of performing CQI daily. Operate, problem-solve, and improvise for common equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure all supplies are properly rotated or removed from procedure areas and all supplies and medications are properly charged to each patient accurately.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in all aspects of electrophysiology, sterile preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
