Job Summary

The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate PRN SACET Victim Advocate to join our team. As a PRN SACET Victim Advocate, you will provide crisis intervention services to victims of sexual assault, including accompaniment to hospitals, law enforcement interviews, and referrals to community resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to the 24/7 crisis line and provide crisis counseling to victims of sexual assault.
  • Accompaniment: Accompany Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) to hospitals in 9 counties to provide support to victims during the forensic exam.
  • Referrals: Link clients with needed services, including accompaniment to law enforcement interviews and referrals to community resources.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with funding guidelines and policy and procedures.
  • Travel: Travel is required to provide services in 9 counties, and a valid driver's license and access to transportation are necessary for this position.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a health-related field such as counseling, psychology, social work, or sociology.
  • Experience: Experience in sexual assault, behavioral health, and/or victim services is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to work in a team environment, provide trauma-informed services, and maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions

This position is home-based, with the expectation that all forensic exam accompaniment will be provided within one hour of the request. Travel is required to provide services in 9 counties, and a valid driver's license and access to transportation are necessary for this position.

Equipment/Technical Competency
  • Professional phone etiquette is necessary for this position.
  • Ability to access email from home.
