Field Based Provider Relations Advocate

Job Summary

This is a field-based opportunity with expected travel in Knoxville and surrounding areas. As a Field Based Provider Relations Advocate, you will assist in the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UnitedHealthcare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for training and ongoing education of providers on policies and procedures, on-site assessments to ensure compliance with contractual terms, and troubleshooting provider concerns internally with timely resolution of issues.

Traveling to provider offices quarterly to build relationships, up to 75% travel within specific region in Tennessee, is also a key aspect of this role.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma, 2+ years of work experience, preferably in healthcare, and 2+ years of experience in Provider Relations and/or Contracting.

Preferred qualifications include experience working in the healthcare industry, in a role where provider interaction was involved, and experience and knowledge with Medicaid and Long-Term Services and Supports providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and on-going education of providers on policies and procedures
  • On-site assessments to ensure compliance with contractual terms
  • Troubleshooting provider concerns internally with timely resolution of issues
  • Traveling to provider offices quarterly to build relationships

Soft Skills:

  • Solid analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple high-priority projects and meet quick deadlines
