Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
A High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience is required.

A valid Food Handlers license is mandatory.

Experience in patient-related services is preferred.

CPR certification is advantageous.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:
Familiarity with patient dietary needs and safe food handling practices is essential.

Understanding of clinical operations and protocols is beneficial.

Ability to uphold quality, safety, and infection control standards is crucial.

Strong organizational and time management abilities are necessary.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Capacity to maintain confidentiality is important.

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues is essential.

Capability to comprehend and follow simple instructions, correspondence, and memos is needed.

Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings to patients, clients, and staff members is vital.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in meal service for patients, visitors, and staff.

The Nutritional Services Assistant may be tasked with:

unpacking and inspecting food supplies; preparing, portioning, and serving food; transporting trays and heavy items; delivering meals to patients; maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to food safety standards; cleaning work areas and equipment; washing dishes and utensils.
