Job Title: Registered Nurse Stroke Coordinator

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to fill the role of Stroke Coordinator at our Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in program coordination, leadership, and clinical operations. They will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the Key Elements of the Stroke Certification process, including development and review of protocols, initial and ongoing training, performance improvement, and community outreach.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Emergency Department, ED Director, EMS, hospital department directors, and staff to develop and implement patient care pathways based on current research and standards of care.
  2. Ensure personnel providing care in the Stroke/Neuro units obtain and maintain required competencies in collaboration with the Education Department.
  3. Develop and implement process improvement initiatives for Stroke Certification in collaboration with the ED Director, ED Manager, Stroke Team, and Quality Management Director.
  4. Analyze data and prepare reports on clinical care reviews, reviewing with the ED Director, ED Assistant Director, Stroke Medical Director, and appropriate committees as scheduled.
  5. Plan, develop, initiate, and evaluate yearly Stroke performance improvement plans, providing performance improvement analysis and collaborating with physicians and staff to implement process improvement initiatives.
  6. Collect and analyze stroke program patient data to assist with documentation, clinical care, and improved outcomes, responsible for input and maintenance of the Stroke Log, including DTN, turnaround times, CT/MRI results.
Requirements:
  • Graduated from a state-approved school of nursing, academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
  • Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
  • 5 years' clinical experience, including telemetry, and familiarity with the Neuroscience patient population and Stroke evidenced-based medicine requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently, and be self-directed.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with teams at varying levels across the organization, proficient in a variety of software and computer programs, including Cerner, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
