Job Summary

Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. (SALA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Attorney to join our Pro Bono Program. The successful candidate will work closely with our Volunteer Lawyers Program to provide free civil legal services to low-income individuals in Southern Arizona.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate rural clinics and work with staff in satellite offices to schedule Volunteer Lawyers and ensure paperwork and forms are provided and completed.
  • Develop and improve pro per legal packets and legal information available to the community.
  • Provide support to Volunteer Lawyers in legal research, advice, and drafting of legal motions or pleadings.
  • Assist with client file management, tracking Volunteer Lawyer hours, and grant reporting.
  • Coordinate law student volunteer opportunities, including follow-up clinics, court projects, and hearings.
  • Assist with the annual VLP luncheon and other program events.
Requirements
  • Member of the State Bar of Arizona or Arizona Supreme Court Rule 38(d) eligible.
  • 1-3 years of experience practicing law.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, email software, and Internet browsers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a multicultural setting.
  • Spanish-language skills a plus.
Benefits

SALA offers a competitive salary range of $50,050 - $86,962 DOE, with up to 5% additional compensation for bilingual candidates. We also provide an excellent benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and generous leave provisions.
