Sales and Solutions Engineer

At AST, we're committed to enhancing the efficiency, productivity, and safety of flexible aseptic manufacturing processes for the Life Science Industry. We're seeking a highly skilled Sales and Solutions Engineer to join our team and contribute to our shared vision and mission.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain in-depth knowledge of complex products and systems, and utilize this expertise to recommend tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide guidance on product/service solutions that meet these needs.
- Estimate costs and work closely with the engineering team to ensure proposed solutions can be seamlessly integrated with existing systems and equipment.
- Provide technical consultation and knowledge transfer to sales staff, trainers, and product support teams.
- Offer marketing and client feedback to development and other groups as needed.
- Assist in responding to RFIs/RFPs and participate in project meetings to ensure projects meet customer and contractual commitments.
- Perform customer site surveys and prepare application turnover packages for engineering teams.
- Model machine layouts and concepts using 2D and 3D CAD software, and stay current with industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry with working knowledge of regulatory pharmaceutical requirements.
- Specific knowledge and experience with design, manufacture, and integration of automated machinery.
- Experience with 3D modeling software.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated history of strong business-related financial planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite and Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and motivate others.
- Ability to change direction quickly and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Irreproachable professional integrity.
- Demonstrated history of making good business decisions.
- Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, forthright, and thorough.
- Willing to travel 20% or more as required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.
This is a full-time, onsite, position based in Tacoma.
