Role Overview: In the capacity of a Senior Counseling Supervisor, you will guide fellow counselors and oversee the management of individual caseloads. Your responsibilities will include participating in various facility committees and executing additional management-related tasks as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director. You will also aid the Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director in areas such as problem-solving, conflict resolution, and readiness for inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other vital documentation in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Provide orientation to patients regarding program objectives, requirements, rules, regulations, hours of service, and patient rights to facilitate their adjustment. Ensure each patient is assessed and placed according to treatment phases in line with federal and state standards. Maintain updated clinical documentation and patient charts as per established policies. Support patients in crisis by identifying resources and coping strategies to assist them in managing their situations. Counsel patients who may be resistant to program requirements to enhance their understanding of the consequences of noncompliance. Facilitate referrals to community agencies and resources when necessary. Conduct treatment plan reviews and participate in case conferences as required. Review and approve counselor documentation as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director. Assist in the overall development and direction of substance abuse services. Participate in treatment team meetings and grievance hearings as needed. Conduct weekly staff meetings with the counseling team. Regularly review counselor case files to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements. Assist with annual performance evaluations of counseling staff. Support the Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director in inspections and staff meetings. Provide in-service training to clinical team members on a regular basis. Monitor clinical records for quality and compliance with regulations. Conduct intakes for new patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Offer training and technical assistance to community agencies as requested. Guide counselors in managing complex patient cases. Maintain accurate case files for each patient in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements. Oversee substance abuse counseling case assignments and discharges. Attend team meetings and complete required training courses in a timely manner. Participate in ongoing training as mandated by program and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

Must possess certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor from a California-approved agency or hold current credentials as licensed or license-eligible with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology. If license-eligible, must adhere to the Board's requirements, including receiving necessary clinical supervision. Proof of licensure or certification from a state-approved regulatory agency is required upon employment. Proficient in evaluating patients, treatment planning, and providing counseling services. Knowledgeable about the use, abuse, and treatment of illicit substances and addiction. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Professional demeanor and customer service skills. Competent in Microsoft Office applications.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities within the counseling team. Proven clinical expertise and the ability to mentor others.
