Position Overview:
The Technical Unit Supervisor is accountable for overseeing a designated unit to fulfill safety, quality, delivery, production timelines, quality, and cost targets. This role involves workforce development, including performance evaluations, monitoring unit performance, and addressing areas of concern. The supervisor will ensure adherence to PDCA and manage unit-level projects. Additionally, this position is responsible for reporting and communication within the unit and defining strategies to meet the company's output goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to devise and execute plans aimed at enhancing overall unit efficiency through data collection and analysis of current conditions.
- Investigate, recommend, and delegate activities that will boost the unit's profitability concerning SEQDCM.
- Conduct gap analyses of business plan objectives against current plant conditions (SEQDCM) to formulate unit-level enhancement themes.
- Define, lead, and manage the comprehensive strategy to implement the Department's Business Plan across all dimensions – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Manpower/Morale, New Model, Process, and Equipment.
- Establish, lead, and manage the overall expense strategy for the Unit, including resource allocation and investments.
- Oversee career planning and development for associates within the unit.
- Exemplify and promote Honda Philosophy and Business Practices.
- Conduct studies to assess unit impacts of new technologies, production volume, and model changes.
- Coordinate necessary adjustments to meet future production requirements and shifts in business direction.
Candidate Profile:
Required Work Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant experience, commensurate with educational background.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in production, ideally across two or more production departments or facilities.
- Experience in new model development.
- Background in equipment and process management.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with requirements for production follow-up and interaction.
- 10-15 hours of overtime per week.
- Potential for both domestic and international travel.
