About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access and registration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely registration processes.
  • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to patient visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes, enter benefit data into systems to support POS (Point of Service Collections) and billing processes.
  • Accurately screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software to inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment of tests by Medicare and distribute ABNs as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) and/or CRCR, Certified Revenue Cycle Representative.
  • 2-3 years of experience in patient access or leadership roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance processes, including authorizations and benefits verification.
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle, including admission, billing, payments, and denials.
