About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a key member of our revenue cycle management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patient information and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely completion of medical necessity and compliance checks.
  • Assign accurate MRNs, collect insurance information, and process physician orders while providing excellent customer service.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
  • Conduct audits of accounts and ensure accurate and timely completion of forms to meet audit standards.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to patient visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes.
  • Distribute and document designated forms and pamphlets, including the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software.
Requirements
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) and/or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative.
  • 2-3 years of experience in patient access or leadership roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of revenue cycle, including admission, billing, payments, and denials.
  • Understanding of patient insurance processes for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, or procedure codes.
