Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our retail location in Grand Rapids. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales, creating high-performing teams, and developing unique cannabis experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the retail location, ensuring efficient and sound operations, maximizing profit, and the guest experience.
  • Establish and ensure key performance indicators (KPI) are being tracked and achieved across retail.
  • Coordinate with leadership on improving existing processes and procedures for store operations, people development, non-cannabis supply chain, cash flow, and physical inventories.
  • Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to differentiate our brand, driving e-commerce and physical traffic, maximizing in-store events, programming, activities, and other offerings to ensure guests are satisfied with their experience.
  • Ensure all necessary reports are executed to policy.
  • Pursue partnerships with local businesses to aid in stigma reduction and maximization of brand propagation.
  • Coach and develop staff for future roles within the Olswell family of brands.
Requirements
  • A solid background of cannabis knowledge through a combination of personal use and professional employment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Management, Logistics, or related field is preferred, but Olswell recognizes the unusual nature of cannabis education, so a combination of relevant experience and education is also accepted.
  • Strong personnel management and development skills; as the store's General Manager, the training should start with you.
  • A desire to help grow: our people, our brand, and the wellness that we bring to our communities.
  • A wealth of retail operations knowledge, including POS systems merchandising, customer service, inventory management, and budget preparation.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and set that team apart from its competitors.
  • Experience establishing and tracking KPI's and additional sales and performance metrics.
  • Passionate about the holistic benefits that cannabis brings, thriving in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
  • Legally, you must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check, though there are MRA exemptions available for those with cannabis charges in the past.
