Key Responsibilities- Provide expert counsel to clients on U.S. export controls matters, with a focus on the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Perform jurisdiction and classification analyses, including encryption controls and technology controls.
- Draft license applications and Commodity Jurisdiction requests.
- Represent clients in voluntary self-disclosures and internal and government investigations related to export control concerns.
- Assist with M&A trade due diligence, economic sanctions, and OFAC background checks.
- Support national security reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) and mitigation of foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI mitigation) for cleared U.S. contractors.
- 4-6 years of experience in export controls, with a strong understanding of EAR and ITAR regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills.
- Membership in the D.C. Bar or eligibility to waive in.

We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices in accordance with applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $290,000 to $345,000, with additional compensation possible through a discretionary bonus.
