Key Responsibilities:
The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) in Newark, DE, is seeking both experienced phlebotomists and those new to the healthcare field. We provide comprehensive training for individuals eager to join our mobile blood collection team.
Mobile Blood Collection Specialists will be assigned to various blood drives each week, with schedules provided two weeks in advance. We value individuals who are friendly and dedicated to delivering outstanding service to our donors.
We promote a healthy work-life balance and are excited to welcome individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.
This role features a structured career progression for new hires, allowing them to develop and demonstrate the necessary skills for advanced blood collection techniques.
This position is considered essential during adverse weather conditions or emergency situations.
Essential Duties:
Conduct confidential donor interviews to assess eligibility based on BBD standards.
Initiate whole blood collection and monitor donor well-being in accordance with BBD guidelines.
Prepare for donor interactions and blood collection by ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are ready and compliant with Quality Control standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in face-to-face customer service
- Minimum of 1 year managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- A valid driver's license is required
- Phlebotomy training is advantageous
