Position Overview:
The Assistant Golf Course Manager plays a vital role in overseeing golf course maintenance operations and staff under the guidance of the Golf Course Superintendent. This position is essential for ensuring the robust growth of the golf course and clubhouse grounds, including grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant life. Responsibilities encompass evaluating and providing expert advice to uphold stringent industry and environmental standards in turf quality, utilizing specialized knowledge in various areas of agronomy and horticulture.
Golf Course Development:
The facility features a 27-hole golf course and offers a full range of services, including golf, tennis, fitness, and pool amenities. Currently, 9 holes of course development are completed, with two additional years of construction planned. We are looking for a motivated and diligent assistant eager to gain valuable insights and experience in both construction and course maintenance while ensuring that 18 holes remain accessible to our members throughout the development process.
Daily Responsibilities:
Train and implement protocols for Golf Course Maintenance Staff. Execute Chemical and Fertilizer applications. Manage daily water usage for Practice Greens, Tees, and Fairways. Conduct daily turf assessments for wear, disease, moisture levels, cut quality, growth rates, etc. Ensure compliance with all company policies, operational standards, manuals, conduct guidelines, safety regulations, and anti-harassment policies by all staff and members/guests, including prompt intervention, investigation, and documentation as necessary. Determine appropriate personnel actions (counseling, written warnings, suspension, or termination) for performance or attendance issues, coordinating with Human Resources, Legal, and Senior Management as needed. Develop and assign efficient work schedules to meet the staffing needs of Golf Operations and, when necessary, recruit and hire staff to deliver exceptional Member Services. Maintain effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management.About You:
2 – 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance. A 2-year College Agronomy Degree is preferred. A Pesticide Applicators License is preferred. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as mandated by local, state, and federal laws. A collaborative team player capable of building relationships with Members and Employees. Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication skills are preferred.Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 salary range based on experience; Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k (no match); Club Perks
