Technician for Installation and Testing H/F

This specialized role encompasses the installation, programming, troubleshooting, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of both standalone and networked fire alarm systems, along with other associated building system products at client locations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and reprogram panels, replace or repair devices, diagnose and resolve low voltage circuit issues, and conduct system testing.
  • Efficiently organize and utilize technical resources, information, materials, and support to ensure the effective execution of all assigned tasks.

Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/system programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.


Supervision and Inspection:
  • Oversee and inspect the installation of equipment to ensure compliance with customer and contract specifications.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, particularly in Fire/Life Safety Systems.
  • Possession of NICET level III or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, testing equipment, multimeters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in challenging positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, as well as navigating ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and after hours, to meet customer needs.
  • Participate in an on-call service rotation.
  • Overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
  • Basic understanding of network concepts and architectures is preferred.

Education in Network, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous or the ability to obtain relevant qualifications within the first year.
