About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Systems Installation Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security and fire systems, ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations, adhering to national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
  • Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complex problems during installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Adjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
  • Perform system checks for proper operation.
  • Utilize computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, as well as CCTV and access control systems, and media storage.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work, paying close attention to details.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Analyze information and work independently to complete installation jobs.
  • Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
  • Use hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
  • Conduct end-user training.
  • Isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Significant background (5+ year experience) in Commercial Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Significant background (5+ year experience) in Commercial Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
  • Significant background (5+ year experience) in Commercial Access Control Systems.
  • Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
  • Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
  • Must be computer literate, including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
  • Required to participate in After-Hour On-Call Rotation.
  • Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient with all aspects and operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.
  • Proficient with NFPA Code and National Electric Code (NEC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or 2-year technical school program graduate preferred.
  • An industry-recognized apprentice training program may be substituted for the formal education requirement.
  • NICET I, II (preferred), or III.
  • Any Town Fire Alarm Listed Agent Certifications.
  • Specialized training/certification in Access Control, CCTV- Analog, and CCTV- IP systems.
  • Experience in Visitor Management systems.
  • Additional experience in MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems, and Security Gate Operators.
