POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Support Specialist will provide essential technical assistance for the Power System Division, executing a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess and manage all technical documentation and information.
- Oversee the implementation of Caterpillar machine updates, including Generators, Transfer Switches, and other Power System Equipment, in accordance with service directives.
- Conduct thorough Failure Analysis.
- Deliver technical support for all Power Systems-related inquiries, including industrial engines and electric power generation systems.
- Collaborate with technicians and supervisors to address technical requirements.
- Engage with Caterpillar parts and service representatives to facilitate technical support and enhance product reliability.
- Assist management with warranty administration, service letter management, and extended service contracts.
- Contribute to the development of training programs for technicians, providing instruction on Caterpillar SISWEB/TMI and other dealer systems.
- Investigate and report on repair status for customers and internal teams as needed.
- Perform additional technical communication tasks, including liaising with factory engineering for technical support and documenting product issues.
- Prepare customer quotes as necessary.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding scheduling, job status, and cost estimates.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five years of relevant experience in a Caterpillar-related environment; or a combination of education and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents.
- Capable of writing clear reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills for presentations to groups.
- Mathematical skills for calculations related to discounts, interest, and other financial metrics.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately.
- Proficient in computer usage and software applications.
- Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a technical environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer and team interactions.
CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment may involve exposure to mechanical parts and varying weather conditions, with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 Annually
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
