About the Job

As a US Army Diver, you'll be part of an elite group that performs high-risk missions in underwater conditions. Your primary duties will include reconnaissance, demolition, and salvage operations in various water environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance on watercraft propellers and hulls
  • Patch damaged watercraft hulls to ensure seaworthiness
  • Participate in underwater construction projects, including pier and harbor facilities
  • Survey rivers, beaches, and harbors for potential underwater obstacles
Eligibility Criteria:
  • A minimum age of 17 and maximum age of 34
  • Meet height/weight requirements
  • No tattoos on hands, face, or above the neck
  • No felony-level offense history
  • No major medical procedures that would prevent military service
Requirements and Training:

To become a successful US Army Diver, you must complete Basic Combat Training (10 weeks) and Advanced Individual Training (8 weeks), with a focus on mechanical and electrical principles, preventive maintenance procedures, and communication security policies.

Compensation and Benefits:

Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time. Additionally, you may be eligible for up to $50K in cash bonuses for enlisting under certain Military Occupational Specialties.
