Position Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Hydrographic Survey Lead to become a vital part of our team.


Join our Survey/Geospatial division, which provides comprehensive survey and geospatial data services, enabling efficient and precise data collection methodologies.

Utilize advanced techniques to gather data from various environments, enhancing data interpretation capabilities and fostering your professional growth in the industry.


Key Responsibilities:
Oversee marine survey field operations and data analysis for hydrographic survey initiatives aboard survey vessels.

Set up and manage hydrographic survey instruments and survey vessels.

Install and utilize real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning systems and implement post-processing kinematic (PPK) methodologies for hydrographic data.

Ensure the installation, calibration, and effective operation of marine survey instruments, including high-resolution multi-beam and single-beam systems.

Engage in dredging project assessments.

Process hydrographic datasets through to quality assurance and quality control stages.

Adhere to safety protocols and best practices.

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrographic survey instruments.

Perform additional marine survey-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required


Field Hydrographer - Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine survey, specializing in hydrographic surveying with both single-beam and/or multi-beam bathymetry.

Possession of a valid state driver's license.

Authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.

Willingness to travel over 50% for projects domestically and internationally.

Proficient understanding of GPS and motion reference positioning systems, calibration techniques, and data processing methodologies.

Strong writing and documentation capabilities.

Ability to safely operate small vessels or watercraft.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Exceptional observational and analytical skills.

Familiarity with hydrographic software such as Hypack and Sonarwiz.

Experience with hydrographic equipment is essential.

Knowledge of GNSS equipment, including Trimble RTK-GNSS systems and software.

Capability to create and interpret bathymetric maps.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English for effective communication and instruction comprehension.

Desired

ACSM Hydrographer certification is advantageous.

Experience in dredging operations surveys is a plus.

Familiarity with AutoCAD or GIS software is beneficial.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to alternate between standing on a vessel and sitting at a desk while working on a computer.

Willingness to work in outdoor conditions aboard a vessel.

Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
