Aerospace Equipment Specialist

Maplewood at Danbury LLC seeks an experienced Aerospace Equipment Specialist to join our team. The estimated salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
About the JobWe are seeking a highly skilled individual with expertise in the maintenance and repair of aerospace equipment, including aircrew flight equipment (AFE). As an Aerospace Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing AFE, as well as ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Inspect and maintain aircrew flight equipment, including parachutes, helmets, oxygen masks, and other related equipment
- Repair and replace damaged or worn-out equipment
- Evaluate problems and determine the feasibility of repair or replacement
- Evaluate work orders for fabrication of authorized items
- Install and remove aircraft-installed AFE
- Conduct reliability testing using various types of test equipment
- Maintain inspection and accountability documentation
- Perform flightline functions, including AFE preflight and post-flight requirements
- Document all inspection and maintenance actions
- Perform Red X and IPI inspections
- Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times
- USAF equivalent AFE formal military training required
- 1 year of recent experience within the last 3 years at the 7 level or equivalent as an AFE Specialist
- Comprehensive understanding of AFE technical procedures
- Proficiency in AFE inspection and maintenance procedures, parachute construction, and other related skills
- Working knowledge of IMDS, FERMS, and other computer programs
- Ability to move about both inside aircraft hangar and outside on aircraft ramp
- Ability/willingness to fly on military aircraft in the performance of job requirements
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or better in General Studies and have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
