Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 based on industry standards and location.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Optical Coating Department Head to join our team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing a Coating Department that consists of both Coating Engineers and Coating Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling: Work within the Coating Department to meet multiple program needs.
  • Oversight of equipment: Work with the equipment manager on maintenance and repair of coating chambers and accessories.
  • Management of personnel: Conduct yearly performance reviews, career development, communication, and instill adherence to standard processes.
  • Technical guidance: Emphasize quality and safety and foster a rigorous technical discipline to meet the requirements of high-value aerospace parts.
  • Forward thinking: Work with Program Managers and Operations Manager to develop and execute plans to meet future program needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical field such as physics, chemistry, or engineering.
  • Years of Experience – 6-10+ years.
  • Industry Experience – Aerospace a plus.
  • Skill sets - Thin Films, Coating, Vacuum chambers.
  • Acceptable Job Titles - Manager, Team Leader, Supervisor, Engineer.

Candidate Details: The ideal candidate will have strong managerial skills, solid technical knowledge of thin film coating of optics, and experience working in both lab and office environments.
