We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Account Specialist Senior to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our collections team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional medical collection services to our patients and clients. Your strong background in medical collections and excellent communication skills will enable you to successfully resolve accounts and provide top-notch customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed established productivity standards and quality metrics.
- Provide effective collection services, ensuring the successful recovery of accounts in accordance with client and state guidelines.
- Document and update patient account information in our collection software system timely and accurately.
- Handle inbound patient and/or carrier calls promptly and professionally, providing assistance and resolution to account inquiries, issues, and requests.
- Utilize collection tools effectively to ensure quality recovery services and meet or exceed established goals and work standards.
- Perform research and analysis of account issues and strive to resolve problems timely and accurately.
- Promote positive patient relations by communicating in a manner that demonstrates respect for the human dignity of patients and/or their families.
- Maintain active knowledge of all collection requirements by payors and collect balance owing from third-party payers in accordance with State and Federal laws governing collections practices.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent years of experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Experience in a Customer Service call center environment with a focus on healthcare billing/collections or collection agency environment required.
