Edu - Associate Professor/Full Professor of Qualitative Research
Job Summary:The Department of Educational Studies at the University of Alabama invites applications for a Professor of Qualitative Research that can be filled at the levels of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in educational research or in a related field with a specialization in qualitative methods, teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level(s), and demonstrated evidence to conduct high-quality research leading to publication.
Responsibilities:- Establish an active research program leading to publication;
- Seek significant external funding;
- Teach qualitative research courses;
- Participate in program, departmental, and college initiatives/service;
- Provide academic advisement and mentoring to graduate students; and
- Serve on dissertation committees.
- Earned doctorate in educational research or in a related field with a specialization in qualitative methods;
- Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative research methods and methodologies;
- Demonstrated commitment to the epistemological and ontological foundations of qualitative research and inquiry;
- Evidence of ability to conduct research leading to publication and a strong record of high-quality scholarly publications;
- Teaching experience at the graduate level;
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness;
- Evidence of success in working with students and faculty in a variety of disciplines;
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
