About the Position
The Department of Educational Studies at the University of Alabama invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor of Qualitative Research position. This is a tenure-track position that will contribute to the department's research and teaching mission.
Responsibilities
- Establish a research program in qualitative research and publish scholarly articles.
- Seek external funding to support research initiatives.
- Teach qualitative research courses to graduate students.
- Participate in departmental and college initiatives, including service and committee work.
- Provide academic advisement and mentoring to graduate students.
- Serve on dissertation committees.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in educational research or a related field with a specialization in qualitative methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative research methods and methodologies.
- Commitment to the epistemological and ontological foundations of qualitative research and inquiry.
- Record of high-quality scholarly publications.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Evidence of success in working with students and faculty in a variety of disciplines.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
