Career Opportunity: Crisis Intervention and Support Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Crisis Intervention and Support Professional. As part of our 988 Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Team, you will play a vital role in providing critical support to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to providing compassionate and effective crisis intervention services. As a Crisis Intervention and Support Professional, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing evidenced-based crisis services to individuals in need, under the direction of our experienced Crisis Outreach Supervisors
  • Utilizing Motivational Interviewing techniques to engage individuals in crisis and provide non-clinical support beyond the resolution of the immediate crisis
  • Supporting individuals to de-escalate crisis situations and, when necessary, providing transportation to stabilization centers or hospital emergency departments for further care and treatment

Key Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' continuous recovery experience based on personal experience with a mental illness or substance use disorder
  • Current certification in at least one of the following credentialing entities: Addiction Professional Certification Board as a Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)
  • The ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation techniques
  • A valid New Jersey driver's license and a good driving record
