Key Responsibilities:

As a customer-oriented technical expert, the Field Service Technician will utilize advanced troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical skills, along with a solid understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install and maintain processing and packaging machinery. Additional responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance and on-site repairs.

Specific Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Travel approximately 80% of the time (Monday to Friday) to various food processing facilities, primarily in the Southeast region, with potential for travel beyond this area as needed. After the training period, travel will decrease to 60-70%.
  • Interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications, and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Engage with clients on-site, assess equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to restore systems to optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and supervisors to prioritize tasks and keep clients informed about corrective actions and equipment status.
  • Educate clients on routine preventive maintenance practices.
  • Participate in new projects aimed at enhancing the safety and efficiency of existing and new equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery.

  • Experience in servicing, installing, and diagnosing issues with automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
  • Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles to ensure equipment operates within manufacturer specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
  • Strong initiative, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel 60-70% of the time during and after training.
  • Experience in food processing or packaging machinery is a plus.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish skills are desirable.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Work at heights and in various outdoor conditions.
  • Typical office and temperature-controlled environments.
  • Occasional exposure to intense heat, extreme cold, strong odors, and slippery surfaces.

Physical demands include:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while traveling.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment.
  • Capability to adjust controls of machinery quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
