Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for verifying patient identity, reviewing schedules and physician orders, and registering patients for the appropriate service. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient identity and select the correct patient record
  • Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for the appropriate service
  • Scan important documents, such as insurance cards and ID's, and verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record
  • Explain and complete complex regulatory and compliance documents, adhering to all applicable privacy and compliance standards
  • Collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances, and perform transactions securely
  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting patients and families, answering questions, and ensuring patients arrive at the appropriate service area at the right time

Requirements:

  • Two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in keyboarding skills
  • Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology preferred
